The Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music inspires and develops students in pursuit of professional careers in music. Embracing a proven curriculum, opportunities for cross disciplinary collaboration, and close mentorship with our renowned music faculty, our undergraduate and graduate student body is empowered to thrive and become leaders in the field of music and the communities they serve.
The department also provides students opportunities to perform in multiple instrumental and vocal ensembles, regardless of their major field of study. We full immerse students in the cultural study of music, its composition, performance techniques, education, history, and more.

The Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music Brass Area funds many student and faculty events throughout the academic year and beyond. Your generous support helps to fund our annual festivals and outreach events.
Contributions also help to fund various projects by the Cardinal Brass Quintet (Lamar Brass Faculty) such as our upcoming album Hope Over Troubled Waters. This album features newly commissioned works by Lamar faculty, alumni, and internationally renowned composers. This will be the first ever Lamar faculty album, and your generosity will help bring it to life.
