Below is a list of your next steps to get started. To see only the steps you’re required to complete, log in to the LU Student Portal.
- Activate your LEA Account
Your Lamar Electronic Account (LEA) is your primary student email address and log in to a number of resources at 7M视频, like your Student Portal, MyScholarships Portal, and Housing Application. It is formatted with your first initial, last name and potentially a number. You will find your LEA information in your acceptance letter and via email after acceptance to LU.
To activate your LEA, you will need to set up a password, create security questions and sign up for two-factor authentification (via DuoMobile).

- Start the I-20 Request Process
Current Student Visa holders and first-time applicants must complete their immigration actions to transfer their SEVIS record or get their first I-20 and visa.

Undergraduate Students Only
Students attending Texas public institutions of higher education must be in compliance with the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Unless exempt, students must take the TSI Assessment to determine their readiness for college-level work before being advised and registering for classes.

- Register for Orientation
All new students are required to sign up for New Student Orientation (NSO).
- Submit your Immunization Records
LU requires all students provide proof of immunization of specific vaccines verified by their health care provider.
- Explore Health Insurance Options
All F and J students are required to have health and accident insurance for themselves and all
dependent family members in the United States. Insurance must be purchased at the University
during the registration period. The insurance fee will be applied to your tuition and fees at the
time of course registration. - New Student Advising
Schedule an academic advisement appointment with your department to enroll in classes.
